The digital flow at DBB

The creation of Digital Talking Books or other digital data formats requires a production process which is very different from the traditional analogue production process.
At DBB we have developed the STD editor to mark up XML source-files which are converted into the production of:

• Electronic books in HTML.
• Rich Text Format.
• LP Studio Pro output (Daisy 2.02 and MDF)
• Digital Talking Books (DTB) with human speech, with or without the full text.

In addition, DBB produces Digital Talking Books with synthetic speech. In order to automate this production process DBB has developed the STEB generator. The STEB generator is ideal for products like:

• Referencebooks and manuals.
• Indexes and footnotes.
• Newspapers and periodicals.

The STEB generator needs very little human interaction which means very short production time and lower costs.
